Introduction

This is the baseball museum of Jeju Island. It was initiated by the former baseball player Lee Gwang-hwan who supported the development of the Korean sports culture. He collected various documents and items related to baseball from Korea and around the world, and opened this baseball museum in 1995.

It was moved into a new section of Seogwipo City and re-opened as the Korea Baseball Hall of Fame. Those who enjoy baseball but have had little opportunity to learn about the history and interesting facts about baseball will be fascinated by the memorabilia and photos.

Pictures of the world baseball history record and the historical changes in baseball marked by uniforms, gloves, and bats have been displayed. Moreover, films of major Korean baseball games, bats, balls with autographs, medals, and trophies of the world renowned players, and uniforms, shoes, bats, and balls with autographs of famous Korean players such as Park Chan-ho, Seon Dong-yeol, Lee Jong-beom, and Lee Sang-hoon are on display. A silver bat and a golden ball in honor of the 100th birthday of the fabled home-run king Babe Ruth are also on display.

In addition, the Korean Baseball Hall of Fame operates as the only specialized baseball library in Korea with 2,000 baseball-related books and 800 films. It also houses performance facilities for baseball-related film screening, seminars, and training courses, a souvenir shop, and outdoor activity facilities for family visitors.
